Armenian Genocide denier and Islamist apologist Michael van der Galiën has a message for Robert Spencer of Jihad Watch,
“Spencer et al. should stop arguing that ‘pure Islam’ is such and so.”
Spencer, of course,
does nothing of the sort, he merely makes information and news about Islamic extremists available when very few others seem to be paying attention.
Check out Robert Spencer’s blog: Jihad Watch
Anyway, here is one of MvdG’s breathtakingly dumb-ass remarks:
“Pure Islam is whatever you want it to be.”
Wow. This kid should start taking his medication again. Mike, you might want to do a bit more research before you make a claim like that. Here, I’ll point you in the right direction: The Qur’an
But his ignorance regarding Islam can be forgiven, it’s no big deal.
However, Michael van der Galiën (who is a Pajama’s Media™ Correspondent) proves himself to be not only a biased journalist (he also writes for a Turkish rag, Turkish Daily News if I’m not mistaken), but also a genocide denier and propagandist. He recently wrote a post with the following headline:
Armenian Atrocities Against Muslim Turks Part II
In this post, MvdG reproduces an article from “the Algemeen Handelsblad from Tuesday, May 1925, 1920″ which told of ‘Armenian atrocities.’
Of course, while researching the Armenian Genocide myself, I found all sorts of propaganda websites. Websites, I might add, that put RALPH!!! to shame.
I searched for the Algemeen Handelsblad article elsewhere, and [surprise, surprise] it can only be found on Armenian Genocide denial web-sites. That’s right, Michael van der Galiën runs with stories he gets from the Turkish RALPH!!!
In this post, MvdG openly links to another blatant Turkish propaganda site.
I don’t see how a genocide denier who subscribes to a ridiculous Post-Modernist interpretation Islam like MvdG can consider his politic views germane to those found at Pajamas Media.™

Michael Van Der Galien is a 23 year old Dutch student engaged to a Turkish girl and wants to move to Izmir, Turkey. This was in a post which he has since removed from his blog.
Murat,
No wonder he has no problem making patently false statements.
Liars: that post has not been removed.
And: I’m not going to argue with people who know nothing about it. Is it a real document or not? Yes it is. That’s what matters.
Of course, the Armenian propaganda sites don’t use these documents, which simply means that one has to try a bit harder to find them.
O, and please, stop the smearcampaign. I know what you’re doing and why.
Bye now.
Eh… no. Armenian propaganda sites are the ONLY places to find them, I provided a link above. Here it is again:

There’s no smear campaign. I simple wonder why you thought PJM was the place for you.
Oh, this is gonna be good! Why, Michael? Do you think I work for the EVIL, EVIL Armenians?
Its good to know the kid is doing his ‘primary’ research on the issue.
Pure Islam is evil.
Mohammad was a pedophile and a genocidal warlord.
He was the 7th Century version of Stalin, Mao, Hitler and Pol Pot all wrapped into one!
Michael van der Galiën,
Turkey was once Greek Anatolis.
What happened after Manzikert?
Care to discuss what the Turks did to the Greeks?
“Mohammad was a pedophile and a genocidal warlord.”
Muhammad’s marriage to ‘A’ishah was one of political convenience, and wasn’t even His idea. Also, if Muhammad was a pedophile, why is it that so many of His wives were older than He was? If anything, He seems to have been unduly attracted to older women.
As to genocide, I assume you are referring to the destruction of the Banu Qurayza. I unfortunately do not have time to address that now, but I shall in a later post.
Sergei Andropov,
The genocide against Christians and Jews in Arabia.
The genocide/Jihad against Roman and Greek Christians by his followers.
Muhhamd was a pedophile and like a good Leftists you come to the defense of Islam.
Care to discuss the fact that Allah was teh Arabian Moon God?
I know much about Islamic history and can discuss how it destroyed the Greco-Roman civilization of the Meditteranean and worsened the European Dark Ages by cutting off trade.
Islam is a Cancer!
The spread of Islam (by Muhammad and others) can be seen as genocidal.
Even in Mecca he forced everyone to submit to Islam, either that or face the sword, so indeed, pro-active steps were taken to wipe out entire genoi. This has happened in Arabia and elsewhere throughout the history of Islam. No doubt some have converted willingly, but that does not make up for the genocide, which still goes on today.
Oh and, yes, the Inquisition too, was genocide.
However, it’s the Armenian Genocide that MvdG denies.
Trajan,
What in God’s Name are you talking about? Genocide against the Christians and Jews? Where on Earth did you get that bizarre notion? It is an indisputable fact that the People of the Book were allowed to continue to practice their own religions so long as they paid the jizya. Period. In fact, Muslims initially had very little interest in converting people; Islam was seen as a religion specifically for the Arabs. The Middle East remained a religiously diverse region for many centuries after the Arab conquest. Indeed, Islam did not even become the majority religion until something like the 11th or 12th century.
As for “Allah” being the “Arabian Moon God”, I can’t believe I’m even discussing the matter with a person who claims to be knowledgeable about Islam. It’s like somebody claiming to be an astrophysicist claiming that the Earth is flat. “Allah” is nothing more than a contraction of “al-Ilah”, which means “the God”. It is a cognate of “Elohim”, which is one of the words used to refer to God in the Bible (”Elohim” = “Eloah” + honorific plural suffix). During the time of Muhammad, it was used by Arab Jews and Christians to indicate יהוה, and it is still used by them for that purpose. In any case, the Qur’an specifically states that “Allah” is not the moon. From the Sixth Sura:
74. Remember when Abraham said to Azar, His father:
“Why do you take idols for God?
I certainly find you and your people in error.”
75. Thus We showed to Abraham the visible
and the invisible world of the heavens and the earth,
that He could be among those who believe.
76. When the night came with her covering of darkness
he saw a star,
and (Azar, His father) said: “This is my Lord.”
But when the star set, (Abraham) said:
“I love not those that wane.”
77. When Azar saw the moon rise all aglow,
he said: “This is my Lord.”
But even as the moon set, (Abraham) said:
“If My Lord had not shown Me the way,
I would surely have gone astray.”
78: When (Azar) saw the sun rise all resplendent,
he said: “My Lord is surely this,
and the greatest of them all.”
But the sun also set, and (Abraham) said:
“O My people, I am through
with those you associate (with God).
79. I have truly turned My face
towards Him Who created the heavens and the earth:
I have chosen one way and am not an idolater.”
Trajan, you claim to be knowledgeable about Islam, yet you display the most basic and appalling ignorances. Where did you get your alleged knowledge? What research did you do?
Sergei Andropov,
Just caught you in a Leftist lie.
Christians were oppressed by Muslims.
They couldn’t ring their bells, had to wear differnt clothing, forced to speak Arabic and were didn’t have the same legal protections as Muslims.
I understand you Leftists romatized the Caliphgate is it’s viewed as a cool alternative to the Christian Romans.
As someone who is of Spanish origin, I can tell you that in the invasion of 711 2 Million Spanish Goths and Romans were massacred.
What happened to the Latin popualtion of North Africa?
As for Allah,
Sory buster but that was the name of the principal Arabian Moon God. Hence “The God aka Lucifer” as it was the head of many.
Elohim is plural menaing they who are eternal.
No realtion.
Nice try.
Come back with better talking points that your Muslim Brotherhood allies give you.
Want to discuss the 7th Century Islamic wars of agression against the Eastern Roman Empire and Sassanian Persian Empires?
Care to discuss that.
Stop drinking the Kool Aid.
I read the Koran and know very much about that death cult called Islam, their Pedophile/Genocidal Prophet (May he burn in hell) and their Demonic Moon God allah aka Lucifer.
Sergei the Muslim lover,
Here’s another lie I caught you in!
“In fact, Muslims initially had very little interest in converting people; Islam was seen as a religion specifically for the Arabs. The Middle East remained a religiously diverse region for many centuries after the Arab conquest. Indeed, Islam did not even become the majority religion until something like the 11th or 12th century. ”
A lie.
Islam was the majority religion by the end of the 7th Century.
Due to genocide, Rapes, descrimination and high taxation Islam became dominant.
Care to explain the Muslims forbidding the use of Aramaic, Greek, Latin and Coptic in their conquests?
Islam is a cancer that must be removed from America!
“Where did you get your alleged knowledge? What research did you do?”
I got my information from reading Islamic websites and Islamic books paraising their conquests and massacres of the Romans.
I read the Koran aka the 7th Century Mein Kampf.
I got my knowledge from what Muslims themselves say.
Unlike you who reads Leftist propaganda books!
Oh boy,
Trajan, to be fair, it wasn’t just Christians and Jews but all sorts of pagan religions as well.
Sergei, here is a link:
http://history-world.org/islam4.htm
Konservo,
Yes I know.
The Muslims also killed Zorastorians, Hindus and other Pagans.
“Christians were oppressed by Muslims.
They couldn’t ring their bells, had to wear differnt clothing, forced to speak Arabic and were didn’t have the same legal protections as Muslims.”
You call that genocide?
“Sory buster but that was the name of the principal Arabian Moon God.”
You have merely repeated your previous claim without addressing a single one of my points. If “Allah” was a moon god why does the Qur’an explicitly state that He is not the moon?
“Elohim is plural menaing they who are eternal. No realtion.”
The meaning and derivation of Elohim is not quite so clear cut, however, that is immaterial to my point. I stated that Eloah (A-L-O-H) and Ilah (A-L-Ā-H) were cognates. They are. As for relation, it is not definitively understood, but as they have the same triconsonantal root, it’s obvious to anyone with a knowledge Semitic linguistics that they’re somehow related.
“Want to discuss the 7th Century Islamic wars of agression against the Eastern Roman Empire and Sassanian Persian Empires?”
Um, it was the seventh century. If you were a seventh century leader and had a legitimate shot at both Constantinople and Ctesiphon, wouldn’t you take it?
“I read the Koran”
What did you think of Sura 109?
“Islam was the majority religion by the end of the 7th Century.”
Do you have a source for that (or any of this)?
“I got my information from reading Islamic websites and Islamic books paraising their conquests and massacres of the Romans.”
In other words, the Apostasy. That would explain a lot of this.
“Unlike you who reads Leftist propaganda books!”
No, actually I’m majoring in Near Eastern Studies (with an emphasis on Persian) at the most respected public university in the United States of America, a university so deservedly prestigious that it has its own category of parking space for Nobel laureates.* My knowledge comes from the scholarly consensus on Islam, as well as my own studies into the Qur’an, the Apostasy, and so forth. I have never encountered the overwhelming majority of your claims from any respectable source (the notable exception being ‘A’isha, who is a matter of scholarly debate), only here in the blogosphere, being repeated by people who, generally speaking, could not tell the Mideast from the Midwest. You do seem to be slightly more educated than such people, but most of your information appears to come from extraordinarily biased sources.
In your response to my post, you have done very little other than simply restate your original assertions while neither backing them up or addressing, or even acknowledging, my objections to them. I would like to have a reasoned debate with you, but in order for that to happen we need to actually engage in reasoned debate.
*Go Bears!
I agree. It’s best if we listen to what others have to say because, even if the information is different and/or conflicts with what we have heard elsewhere, we will gain insight into the way other view the same phenomena.
All of our sources are biased in one way or another, and we should keep that in mind.
Sergei, remember “John”?
He thought you were biased, and that I was a racist.
Yes, but there are degrees. Osama bin Laden, for example, is not a very good source for info on Islam as a whole.
Sergei,
Good job!
If a debate gets points, chalk one up for ‘rationalists’.
Rationalism is bogus.
Empiricism with a hint of pragmatism is the way to go.
BTW, WTF r u talking about, vermontdave?
Mr. P,
Sorry about the off-topic.
I just thought that Sergei trumped Trajan.
With the argument about the words from the Koran and whatnot.
But what does that have to do with rationalism?
