Short Answer: No.

Take a look at this ad:

Sam Stein of Hufftards askes if Mitt Romney’s ad contains a subliminal message.

Is there a subliminal message in Mitt Romney’s recent attack (err… contrast) ad against Sen. John McCain?

About seven seconds into a spot criticizing the Arizona Republican for his stance on immigration reform, the screen quickly flashes the word “rat” in a lone white box against a predominantly blue background. The rodent reference, which appears just under and to the right of McCain’s name, is a highlighted portion of the word “immigration” and disappears almost immediately.

Is there a subliminal message in the ad?

Short answer: No.

Longer answer: LOL!

Now, Stein asserts that the word “rat” appears alone in a white box. However, as we can clearly see from this picture provided by Hufftards:

It’s not “rat” that appears in the box at all, it’s “grati.” As in the Latin grātīs or grātĭā, meaning “beloved, dear” or “liking, love, friendship, or partiality,” respectively.

So you see, this isn’t a smear campaign at all. Once again, Hufftards proves to be wrong.

There are plenty of reasons to hate Romney, we don’t need any more; but clearly, the word RAT stands out.

    I don’t hate Romney.

The only candidate who I will campaign for/against is Ron Paul, and I am against. As for the ad, I think it’s funny.

    Gratia

I agree with you on Ron Paul. He’s a little too extreme for his own good.

The age-old pesky U.S.-Mexico border problem has taxed the resources of both countries, led to long lists of injustices, and appears to be heading only for worse troubles in the future. Guess what? The border problem can never be solved. Why? Because the border IS the problem! It’s time for a paradigm change.

Never fear, a satisfying, comprehensive solution is within reach: the Megamerge Dissolution Solution. Simply dissolve the border along with the failed Mexican government, and megamerge the two countries under U.S. law, with mass free 2-way migration eventually equalizing the development and opportunities permanently, with justice and without racism, and without threatening U.S. sovereignty or basic principles.
