Egypt: Fatwa Reinforces Muslim Bigotry

Fatwa In Egypt Revokes Gender Equality In Giving Testimony, Inheritance
Several ulemaa from the Al-Azhar Institute in Egypt have issued a fatwa opposing the demands of Islamic law expert Dr. Zaynab Rejwan to let non-Muslim women inherit from Muslim husbands and to give equal weight to women’s testimony in court.
The ulemaa stated that these demands were a gross violation of what the Koran and Sunna stated, and were against ijma – the consensus of the community of Muslims.

Of course Dr. Rejwan’s demands were opposed, they are un-Islamic.
I mean, after all, everyone knows that a woman’s testimony is not equal to that of a man!
She could be hallucinating, for crying out loud!
What! Islam is a religion of peace and equality.

That’s common knowledge now, I’ve posted on their support and/or sympathy for Palestinian terror groups several times.
It does suck that the more fundamental ‘scholars’ have not embraced 21st century human rights. Hopefully this will change.
