Obama Flip-Flopping on Iraq

Or perhaps we should say that Obama is “changing” his mind and he “hopes” no one will notice.

Note that the man in the beginning says that both McCain and Obama are changing their views on Iraq, this is not so. McCain has maintained that success is the only option in Iraq and he has not changed or flip-flopped on this issue.

From what I gathered, neither Obama nor McCain have substantially changed their position on Iraq. Obama has never been for immediate withdrawal, and McCain’s “hundred years” remark was just him being stupid.

He’s never been for immediate withdrawal, but withdrawal we must (according to Obama).

He wanted to cut and run, but to do so would an affront to the facts. Obama has been carelessly holding on to an uninformed ideology and he’ll have to change if he wants to appear to have any connection to reality.

McCain was talking about the same situation we have in other countries like Germany, Japan, Korea, and Italy. It is a mutual a strategic partnership not a 100 year long war. The U.S. has people in a lot of places. it’s a mutual agreement with the “host nation”. They don’t want them there they would be out in a month. I might not always like or agree with McCain but I will defend him on this one.

Obama on the other hand wasn’t even a Boy Scout. That and he intentionally misinterpreted McCain’s words.

“He wanted to cut and run”

    Source…?

“They don’t want them there they would be out in a month.”

Then why are they still there? The Iraqis don’t want use there. That’s why they’re fighting a war against us, and why there are massive anti-occupation protests, and the majority of the Iraqi parliament is dead set against the proposed defense agreement. McCain knows this, and has said as much, though unfortunately I don’t remember where.

    Straight from the horse’s mouth:

Obama will immediately begin to remove our troops from Iraq. He will remove one to two combat brigades each month, and have all of our combat brigades out of Iraq within 16 months. Obama will make it clear that we will not build any permanent bases in Iraq. He will keep some troops in Iraq to protect our embassy and diplomats; if al Qaeda attempts to build a base within Iraq, he will keep troops in Iraq or elsewhere in the region to carry out targeted strikes on al Qaeda.

How is that cutting and running?
