Obama’s “ancient Greek temple” stage, from which he will make a speech on Thursday, and has been described as:
an elaborate columned stage resembling a miniature Greek temple… similar to structures used for rock concerts
Is more than likely not “inspired by the stage at the 2008 Virginia Republican Convention” as some seem to think.
The background at the GOP convention is the Virginia State Capitol in Richmond, which, by the way, was designed by Thomas Jefferson.

Nice try, TP.

Yeah, the VA GOP’s stage was based on a building with Greek-style architecture.
Similarly, Obama’s stage is probably based on a building with Greek-style architecture–like the Lincoln Memorial or the White House–not an actual Greek temple.
You’re just reinforcing our point–just because someone speaks on a stage that has columns doesn’t mean that stage is somehow a temple built to their greatness.
But hey, don’t let the facts get in the way of a good smear, right? And thanks for the site traffic, BTW.
Exactly right.
On the podium in the first image, is that a picture of an elephant throwing up?
That’s a sign of good luck according to Indian (as in the South Asian country) folk-lore, Sergei.
