Italy has decided to pay Libya (an “““““ex””””” – terrorist/terror-funding state) reparations for their period of colonialism:
The “friendship pact” has been signed by the Italian leader and his Libyan counterpart Colonel Muammar Gaddafi.
The North African country accuses Italy of killing thousands of Libyans and driving thousands more from their villages and cities during its 1911-1943 rule.
On his arrival in Libya, Mr Berlusconi said the deal would see Italy invest $200m every year for the next 25 years.
Italy has already (in 2007) returned the ancient Roman Venus of Cyrene statue:
Yeah! What great friends they’ll become, I’m sure!
But seriously, 200 mil a year for 25 years!? To Libya!?
I’m all for returning the statue, but anything other than looted artifacts or stolen money is above and beyond the needed action.
Italy, you’ve disgraced yourself twice. First, with colonization. Second, with the yearly pay-offs that you’ll be handing over to a crazed regime for the next 25 years in an attempt to ease your consciences.
Perhaps, Italy, you should think of all the reparations that you owe due to Roman imperialism… huh? I believe France, England and Spain should be compensated, don’t you?
